About the team:
We are enhancing our entire credit offering moving towards an originate to distribute model and as such our teams are working much closer with one another to ensure we offer practical solutions for our clients across the entire debt spectrum.
Part of this is the continued development of our DCM offering which is responsible for addressing borrowers needs by raising and managing debt in capital markets, while ensuring we utilise the balance sheet to its fullest extent.
Working with a mix of corporate borrowers, financial institutions, public sector and sovereigns as well as non-investment grade (high yield) issuers globally we provide issuance of various kinds of bonds and hybrid capital, along with liability and transaction management advice.
We are looking to appoint an Analyst into the team to focus on Financial Institution clients who can interpret market trends, develop connections and open new avenues for revenue generation.
Responsibilities:
- Effective coverage of clients to understand and address their DCM borrowing needs:
- Regional focus to include; UK, Ireland, Norway, Sweden, Finland, Denmark
- Products to include all bonds across the capital structure (Tier 1, Tier 2, senior preferred and unpreferred, covered bonds) in both public and private formats as well as ABP solutions and derivatives
- Develop and maintain a track record of winning bond mandates in addressing clients' borrowing needs:
- Assist in the development of the business in the UK / Nordic region helping us to raise our league table ranking
- Oversee the effective and responsible execution of bond mandates:
- Assist in the good execution of transactions that fully comply with internal policies and external regulations
- Promote the development of advisory and product offering in line with team strategies and priorities:
- Engage with key stakeholders and experts to develop a holistic advisory approach and deliver strategic and tailor-made content / solutions to clients
- Assist in the development of the client base:
- Support the development of the business by engagement and alignment with other departments in assisting new client and product opportunities
- Represent the DCM in internal dialogues with colleagues to provide a best-in-class service to the client base:
- Work in close coordination with other stakeholders across the Bank to promote a high standard of advisory services to clients to maximise business opportunities. This will involve close cooperation with other business lines such as Syndications, Coverage and Investment Banking, Structuring & Advisory Financing, Asset Backed Products and Global Markets among others
Profile required:
- Understanding of Bond markets, their dynamics and related instruments including credit and rates derivatives.
- Ability to look at insight from research, trading and sales to formulate your own interpretation of the market and provide advice to clients
- Strong communication skills with the ability to quickly and effectively build rapport and engage with a wide variety of people, both internally and externally, with the willingness to directly contact clients and provide advice
- Ability to create clear, structured compelling and comprehensive pitch material tailored to clients' needs
- Experienced user of Bloomberg with understanding of macro-economic concepts
- Team orientated - willingness to do what is required to assist the team in providing highest level of service to our clients - this could include managing the desk when others are away
