We're excited to expand our Commissioning Team with an Apprentice EICA Commissioning Engineer to join our Professional Development Programme for our 2025 intake. This will be a site-based role across the United Utilities Region.

What will you be doing?

You will report directly to the Commissioning Manager and gain experience and training from a highly experienced EICA team working on projects within the Water & Wastewater Treatment Industry. Throughout the programme, you will have the opportunity to work on all stages of the projects. The first year will include a period based in a factory environment at one of our supply chain partners, participating in the manufacture and assembly of essential equipment for the water industry.

To continue with our growth plans for 2024 and beyond, we are searching for a potential Apprentice EICA Commissioning Engineer to join our apprenticeship scheme. We have an opportunity working alongside multi-discipline engineering site teams at a multitude of client sites throughout the Severn Trent region as well as alongside our design teams at Derby Offices.

Apprenticeship:

As an Apprentice, you will undertake a Level 3 Engineering Design Technician course at a local college under our mentorship and guidance. The course will be approximately 4 years of study and commitment.

Qualifications required to apply:

You will need a minimum grade 4 in English and Maths at GCSE.

Flexibility- The role is essentially site-based and whilst there may be periods when attendance at an office (either MWH or a client), the need to commute anywhere within the Severn Trent region on a daily basis or on occasion lodge locally to a place of work is a requirement of the role.

Strong communication skills- both written and verbal are essential, and you must be able to work well within a team and independently.

Strong work ethic- self-motivated, flexible, and reliable with good problem-solving skills. You will also have a strong client service focus and excellent organisational skills with the ability to multi-task.

Excellent computer skills- a good understanding of Microsoft Office are essential.

Curiosity - a natural curiosity regarding how things work, is a desirable characteristic common to all commissioning engineers.
