Due to their quality of service, a large percentage of their work is repeat business based on years of partnerships, even with generations of the same family.
Due to continuing demand, they have a fantastic opportunity for a talented Associate Structural Engineer to join the business in their Stockton-on-Tees Office and play a key role in leading and managing projects from concept through to completion.
As an Associate Structural Engineer, you will:
- Lead the structural engineering design process, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
- Oversee and review technical drawings, calculations, and specifications.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop integrated design solutions.
- Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior and less experienced engineers.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and stakeholders.

As a Chartered Engineer, you will possess a minimum of 10 years post-chartered experience working within a UK engineering design consultancy, with a focus on designing and delivering complex projects. You will have demonstrable experience of structural design and assessment of concrete, steel, masonry, and timber structures, using current U.K. Standards and Eurocodes. You should be a capable user of design spreadsheets (e.g., Excel and TEDDS) and have knowledge of detailing packages (e.g., AutoCAD and Revit).
Capable of leading multiple small to large sized projects without supervision, you will chair concept and detailed design reviews as part of a staged design delivery process. You should be proficient in the use of industry-standard software for structural analysis and design (e.g., Tekla Structural Designer or similar). You will be able to complete structural condition surveys and reports to a high standard and to tight deadlines, and specify construction information (e.g., using NBS).
We are looking for an enthusiastic, engaging team player with strong leadership and project management skills, as well as effective communication abilities, both written and verbal, to engage with clients and team members.
The role offers a market-leading pension scheme, professional membership support (including membership subscription fees for qualifying organisations), and hybrid working. There will be a competitive salary and benefits package, commensurate with your experience and qualifications, in a company that offers a collaborative and dynamic work culture where your contributions are recognised and appreciated.
