Associate Director (London)

Browning Environmental Communications is looking for an exceptional, strategic and commercially-driven Associate Director to support its outstanding delivery of communications in the field of clean energy and environmental sustainability.
Responsibilities and Scope:- Act as the primary liaison for a range of clients in the UK, Europe and beyond including public and private companies, cleantechs, NGOs and foundations, scientific organizations, and multilateral organisations.
- Devise effective strategic media and stakeholder engagement strategies and support integrated campaigns alongside digital, design and content colleagues.
- Demonstrate an excellent understanding of the political, economic and policy forces shaping climate and environmental action, and the broader communications landscape.
- Effectively manage teams to deliver to agreed timeline and budget, overseeing quality and operational performance to meet client objectives.
- Identify opportunities to develop and grow the business and support through proactive network-building and contributing to proposals, pitches and organic growth opportunities.
- Act as an ambassador for Browning and the topic of environmental sustainability communications at external events and industry forums.
- Extensive experience managing teams on high-profile accounts at a leading communications agency.
- Experience in communications in one or more of the following subject areas: clean energy, decarbonisation, circular economy, nature restoration, or carbon markets.
- Degree or equivalent in a relevant field from an accredited college or university will be advantageous.
- Passionate about climate action and environmental sustainability, and committed to impact.
- Strong project management skills, including the ability to serve as the daily client contact for multiple clients simultaneously, with a proven track record of responsible client-related financial management, including effectively managing within client budgets.
- Demonstrates the ability to deeply understand clients' goals, business models, and their stakeholders including customers, employees, investors, policymakers, regulators, etc.
- Strong leadership skills including ability to multi-task, delegate, manage assignments, and evaluate team members' work effectively, and to share knowledge effectively with team members and drive a culture of creativity and excellence.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
