Your Role:
We have an exciting Associate Scientist 1 position within our Microbiology team on a 12-month Fixed Term Contract based in Glasgow. You will be responsible for performing routine GMP studies while maintaining good housekeeping, equipment maintenance, and stock control to ensure the smooth operation of the laboratories. Our Microbiology team conducts a wide variety of microbial characterization and sterility assays to support development and manufacturing processes within the pharmaceutical industry. You will make scientific observations and complete documentation to meet the required industry standards. Responsibilities include working within the laboratory in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and relevant compliance regulations to ensure routine studies are completed on time and accurately recorded to meet scientific and GMP regulatory standards.

Who You Are:

  1. You hold a BSc or higher qualification in Microbiology or a related Biological Science discipline.
  2. Ideally, you have prior knowledge and experience working to GLP and/or GMP in a similar environment, with experience in aseptic techniques.
  3. You are accustomed to a high-volume, fast-paced environment and can handle volume outputs while being solutions-focused when faced with challenges.
  4. Highly self-motivated with strong initiative, you approach challenges with energy, drive, and a determination to finish tasks.
  5. You have a strong focus on quality and safety.
  6. You possess strong planning and organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize effectively.
  7. You have good communication and interpersonal skills.
  8. Computer literate, ideally with prior knowledge of working with LIMS.
