We are seeking an ambitious individual to join our team as a Traded Risk Senior Manager performing Risk Stewardship over Regulatory Reporting.

The purpose of the role is to support the establishment of the Traded Risk Regulatory Reporting Assurance function and apply Subject Matter Expertise to this activity. This function will be responsible for providing risk stewardship, design and effectiveness testing on Traded Risk activities related to regulatory reporting, covering both Financial and non-Financial Risk processes.

The Regulatory Risk Assurance function within Traded Risk is currently being established. The role holder will also be responsible for developing our approach to Risk Stewardship in this area, interaction with a similar Treasury Risk team and with the wider Traded Risk team.

As Traded Risk Senior Manager - Regulatory Reporting, the successful candidate will form part of the team establishing Regulatory Risk Assurance in Traded Risk. In this role, you will:

  1. Ensure that the approach to Traded Risk Assurance is appropriately defined and scoped, promoting and implementing synergies and efficiencies while securing an optimal and best in class control environment.
  2. Challenge control and risk owners to ensure that risk management activities are working effectively. This includes the following activities:
    1. Provide subject matter expertise, advice, guidance, and effective challenge to the Risk and Control Owners;
    2. Monitor compliance with the minimum requirements applicable to the management of Traded Risk, as set out in relevant policies.
    3. Be aware of impacts of external environment changes, emerging risks and changes to the business strategy;
    4. Work with the business to understand the impact of emerging risks that require changes to controls, resources and business operations to ensure they remain within appetite;
    5. Support definition of minimum control standards, with input from Risk Owners, and Control Owners, specifying key risks and key controls and providing guidance on continuous monitoring expectations;
    6. Recommend Risk and Control Assessment ("RCA") scoping, and challenge where this is not appropriately applied in the RCA;
    7. Challenge Risk and Control Owners on risk and control management, including inherent risk, residual risk, control effectiveness ratings, issues, actions and events.

  7. A high level of professionalism and competency which helps to determine solutions around appropriate risk measures, risk processes, risk monitoring and management.
  8. Communication and interpersonal skills, including the capacity to articulate the case for risk management in the language of business;
