Context of the mission/objective(s) of the job
We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Functional Analyst to join our Real-Time Operations team, focusing on traffic incident management. Our goal is to deliver high operational quality in the execution of the transport plan, improving service quality, operational efficiency, and customer satisfaction. To achieve this, we are implementing a centralized system that provides a comprehensive source of information on traffic events and process inefficiencies impacting quality
This project aims to: Aggregate and manage traffic events from multiple sources with real-time data feeds. Facilitate incident prevention through analysis, data enrichment, and short-term corrective actions. Enable post-mortem analysis for structural problem resolution and long-term improvements. The successful candidate will play a key role in initiating and defining the project, later transitioning to an agile IT team where they will collaborate with developers and testers. The role also involves close engagement with business and operational stakeholders to ensure the project aligns with organizational goals

Responsibilities
- Analysis of the Current Situation: Understand and document the existing landscape of systems and data sources related to traffic events and quality issues
- Requirement Gathering: Collaborate closely with business and operational stakeholders to capture, analyze, and document functional requirements for system enhancements or new integrations
- Solution Design & Implementation: Partner with development and architecture teams to contribute to solution design, ensuring alignment with both technical and business needs
- Documentation & User Stories: Translate business requirements into detailed functional documentation, including user stories, process flows, and integration specifications
- Support development and testing teams throughout the project lifecycle to ensure a smooth delivery
- Testing & Validation: Define test cases and scenarios with the testing team. Actively participate in validation, bug reviews, and testing phases to ensure solutions meet functionality, performance, and quality standards
- Project Management Support: During the initial phase, handle project management tasks, including scheduling, task tracking, and stakeholder coordination, to ensure an efficient project kick-off
Requirements
- Education: Master's degree or equivalent through experience
- Experience as a Functional Analyst: At least 5 years as a Functional Analyst, with proven expertise in similar roles. Experience in the railway industry is a plus
- Experience in Project Management: At least 1 year of experience in project management or administrative project coordination, demonstrating strong organizational and planning skills
- Technical Skills: Familiarity with integration frameworks, APIs, and Middleware solutions. - Languages: Fluency in English is required. Proficiency in French and/or Dutch is essential
- Soft Skills: Strong analytical mindset with attention to detail. Proactive and practical, with excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities. Able to work under stress, with a customer-focused and team-oriented approach
- On-Site Presence: Availability to work on-site at least 2 days per week
- Autonomy: Demonstrated ability to work independently, manage priorities, and deliver results with minimal supervision, particularly in the initial phases of a project
