Our client, a leading firm of accountants and auditors, is seeking an experienced Audit Senior to join their dynamic and well-established team based in the Slough area. This is an exciting time to join the Firm as they are growing rapidly and you will have the opportunity to develop and progress in a supportive and flexible firm of accountants.
Responsibilities:
- Communicate directly with clients via phone and email. Ensure all queries are discussed with the client and key risk areas, or unresolved matters are brought to the client managers or partner attention. Communicating directly with partners and support staff on all matters.
- Assist in job planning and workflow of accounts and audit work. Chasing clients where necessary to ensure jobs are progressed timely and efficiently once records have been received. Ensure the client control schedule has been updated accurately at all stages of the assignment, from the receipt of client records through to job completion.
- Staff responsibilities - motivate and train junior members of staff. Keep key staff informed when cover is required due to study or holiday leave to ensure a seamless service is given to accounts and audit clients.
- Assist with pre-audit planning with manager and partner. Attend client premises for each audit assignment at planning and field work stage as necessary, and ultimately present the audit files for manager review. Key audit findings to be communicated to the client manager and/or partner.
- Where audit clients are located at non-commutable distances from the office, overnight accommodation should be arranged as necessary.
- Document and test audit clients' systems and controls notes, which should be reviewed with appropriate client staff so that they are kept up to date on an annual basis.
- Manage time appropriately so that accounts preparation work and corporation tax returns can be filed on time and structured around audit assignments.
- Maintain and develop existing as well as new customers, through proactive service and support. Identify cross-selling service opportunities.
- Self-development - Develop relevant knowledge and skills through continued study. Maintain and uphold the professional ethical standards set out in the staff handbook and the law and regulations pertaining to money laundering and terrorist financing.
Requirements:
- Studying towards either the ACA or ACCA qualification.
- Possess excellent communication skills and attention to detail.
- Have gained a minimum of 2 years experience in an Audit focused role.
This role is hybrid working with 3 days spent in the office a week, where car parking is available. The office location also benefits from excellent public transport links and is walking distance from a main line train station.
