About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Automated Test Engineer to join our R&D team working on high-impact security solutions. Based near Waregem, you'll play a critical role in ensuring the quality, reliability, and robustness of our embedded and software systems by designing and implementing test automation frameworks.

You'll work closely with development, DevOps, and QA teams to automate testing pipelines, drive continuous integration efforts, and validate complex firmware and software components in a security-focused environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain automated test scripts for embedded systems and applications using Python and Selenium
• Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines using tools like Jenkins
• Collaborate with firmware and software engineers to test low-level components (written in C++ and embedded C)
• Ensure test coverage across different system levels: unit, integration, system, and end-to-end
• Work with DevOps to enhance automation and deployment processes
• Maintain test environments and simulate security use cases for functional and performance testing
• Investigate test failures and log bugs with detailed documentation for traceability
• Contribute to quality assurance best practices in a safety- and security-critical development lifecycle

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
• Strong experience with Python for test automation
• Familiarity with Jenkins, CI/CD, and DevOps practices
• Experience with C++ and/or embedded firmware development/testing
• Practical experience using Selenium for UI testing (web or embedded web UIs)
• Working knowledge of Linux environments and scripting
• Experience in the security, defense, or industrial systems domain is a plus
• Strong analytical and debugging skills
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities

Nice to Have

• ISTQB certification or similar
• Experience with hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) or embedded test automation
• Familiarity with security protocols and secure software development practices
