Our client in the chemical manufacturing industry are searching for an automation engineer for their ongoing projects in Antwerp, Belgium. They are looking for an automation engineer to strengthen the Process Control Systems (PCS) team. The PCS team is responsible for all hardware and software on the process control systems and safety systems in the factory and ensures that the systems continue to function reliably at all times. The role will be for their chemical manufacturing site, where the role will require you to travel to the office for most days in the week.

YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Implementing modifications and projects on the Siemens PLC systems.
• Evaluate and introduce PLC-related software packages.
• Work closely with the production team to discuss software upgrades you have made.
• Performing system life-cycle management and ensuring the timely upgrade of the systems and software, taking into account the necessary system and security requirements.
• Ensure that all systems are maintained and managed up to internal organizational standards.
• Provide technical support for production and maintenance issues.
• Develop and document best practices and standards around process control.

YOUR PROFILE

• Master's or Bachelor's degree in a technical industrial direction.
• Experience in the process industry is a plus.
• Experience with Siemens Step7, PCS7 and TIA portal packages.
• A team player who is working closely with colleagues, managers, internal customers and external suppliers.
• Good knowledge of Dutch and English.
