The purpose of this role is to be responsible for the delivery of a clinical specialised Occupational Therapy treatment as part of the Central London Community (Barnet) Unplanned Care Service. The Central London Community Healthcare (CLCH) NHS Trust are the leading provider of community health in the United Kingdom covering 11 London Boroughs and Hertfordshire with over 900 Allied Health Professionals (AHPs) in seven professional groups - Dietitians, Occupational Therapists, Orthoptists, Paramedics, Physiotherapists, Podiatrists and Speech and Language Therapists. AHPs are 30% of the clinical workforce at CLCH providing assessment and treatment interventions across the lifespan from birth to end of life care.
Main duties of the jobThe post holder will be responsible for:
- Determine clinical diagnoses, provide appropriate treatments, and maintain records as an autonomous practitioner working without direct supervision but with advice and support from Band 7 Occupational Therapists and other team colleagues.
- Manage a clinical caseload, maintain a high professional standard, and employ specialised knowledge gained from practical and theoretical experience.
- To deputise for the Band 7 Occupational Therapist in terms of operational issues and to assist in the planning, co-ordination and evaluation of the Occupational Therapy Service provided to patients with rehabilitation problems when required.

Job responsibilities- To comply with all the organisational and departmental policies and procedures. To contribute to discussions on service/policy development and provide comments on proposals and to propose changes where required.
- To be responsible for equipment used in carrying out Occupational Therapy duties and to adhere to departmental equipment policy, including competence to use equipment. To ensure the safe use of equipment by others through teaching, training, and supervision of practice.
- To decide priorities for your own work area, balancing other patient-related and professional demands and ensure that these remain in accordance with those of the department.
- Be aware of the Health and Safety aspects of your work and implement any policies which may be required to improve the safety of your work area, including the prompt recording, and reporting of accidents and incidents to senior staff.
- To be responsible for the equipment used during treatment and to maintain stock control and assist in the ordering of supplies as necessary.
- To be responsible for ensuring the effective selection and use of all treatment resources available in all situations.
- Degree/Diploma in Physiotherapy
- Current HPC Registration
- Specialist training in Elderly Care
- Minimum of 2 years UK post qualification experience including: Community Service, Orthopaedic rehabilitation, Neurology, Elderly rehabilitation, Musculo-skeletal conditions.
