Banking Operations Analyst

Overview of business area or project:

Group Messaging, Sanctions & Market Rules is facing very high volumes of sanctions alerts resulting from the recent dynamic changes in the global sanctions regulations, eg for China, Belarus, Russia. This requires a task force to be established in order to stabilize the business process and support the team in backlog reduction.

Key Responsibilities

Control and processing of suspicious SWIFT-/SIC- & SEPA- Messages and Payments considering embargo regulations and current sanctions list (people and country sanctions)

Monitoring of transactions requiring additional investigations

Overview and understanding of relevant internal policies and current sanctions lists, as well as their impact on banking transactions and messaging

Primarily, processing of cases related to Swiss sanctions regulations, with the possibility to get to know the global market view

Internal Compliance training and cooperation with a motivated team based in Zurich Uetlihof Overview of the department/team (team size, backgrounds, personalities ):

The Sanctions Handling team is based in Zurich and consists of 20+ motivated employees. They are part of a global function with colleagues located in other countries globally.

Essentials Skills and Qualifications:

1. Very precise and detail oriented work attitude, with a strong skills to focus on the tasks
2. Strong sense of responsibility, and discretion
3. Team player personality with strong communication skills
4. Interest at international relations
5. Interest in international relations and foreign affairs will be a benefit for the daily work and will allow to better understand the background of sanctions regulations
6. Very good knowledge of German and English on a communicative level

Desired Skills and Qualifications:

-Knowledge of MS Office (incl. Outlook)

- Experience in work with various computer systems or applications
