Help us shape the future of Building safety!
We're looking for an experienced Building Safety Manager to join our growing team and play a key role in ensuring our high-risk residential buildings are safely managed, well-maintained, and fully compliant with legislation.
This is a great opportunity to apply your expertise in a role that makes a real difference, supporting residents, managing risk, and raising safety standards across our buildings.
You'll primarily apply your experience and expertise on our five high-rise sites across Worcester and Leicester, but will also provide advice and guidance for our wider housing stock.
Why this role?
We're offering an exciting opportunity for an experienced Building Safety Manager with strong leadership skills and a talent for building effective relationships. You'll have the chance to shape the development of this newly created role and help us strengthen our approach to building safety and contribute to our mission of investing in people and places, driving a stronger and more sustainable future.
What you'll be doing:
Duties will include being the lead for our Building Safety Group. You'll work closely with internal and external stakeholders to develop and maintain Building Safety Cases for buildings within scope, proactively managing identified risks.
You'll also work with Development and Asset Management teams to establish and maintain the Golden Thread of information, ensuring that digital records supporting Building Safety are accurate, consistent and up to date.
You will lead and shape the implementation and delivery of Resident Engagement Strategies, managing communications with residents about building safety, their responsibilities, and any emerging issues. Regular face-to-face meetings, particularly at our five high rise sites will be required.
Some things we are looking for:
- NEBOSH fire safety (or equivalent)
- Membership of IFE or IFSM
- Extensive knowledge and understanding of fire safety legislation and guidance, building regulations and technical standards
- Experience of working with multiple stakeholders in a building safety capacity to achieve common goals.
- Ability to challenge unacceptable behaviour or practice and raise, escalate or flag risks to safety.
- Capable of explaining building safety issues to internal and external stakeholders including residents in a clear and concise manner.
While this role is home-based, you should be able to travel to undertake site meetings/visits and attend Group offices for meetings as required. Our current Group offices are located at Birmingham Business Park and Central Park in Worcester.
Some of the great benefits we can offer you:
- Up to 28 days annual leave (plus bank holidays) with the opportunity to buy and sell leave
- Family friendly policies including generous Paternity, Maternity, Shared Parental and Adoption leave plus 3 days paid Urgent Domestic Leave
