Job Description

Are you a qualified Building Surveyor looking to expand your portfolio? Come and join our lively and highly motivated team of professionals based in vibrant, modern offices at London Bridge.

We're looking for experience in preparing specifications, writing reports, and procuring and administering building and refurbishment contracts. You'll also need to demonstrate sound technical knowledge of building construction, building pathology, and H&S law and practices. Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential as you'll be dealing with members of the public, local residents, staff, and contractors.

It's all in your hands from adaptations to structural issues and complex damp problems; your expertise will underpin a broad range of building works.

Key duties and responsibilities of the role:

  • Managing works from inception to completion; your flair for efficient programming, effective tendering, and robust supervision of contractors will ensure consistent completion - on time, on budget, and to high standards.
  • Your knowledge will inform our responses to statutory and legislative change and help to shape ways of working. Crucially, you will also help us to use sustainable technologies that improve and promote our services.
  • At the heart of your success will be a flair for building innovative working relationships - with applicants, residents, contractors, suppliers, colleagues, and external agencies alike.

About You:

  • A relevant building qualification to HNC or above.
  • Substantial experience of delivering repairs and maintenance services.
  • Proven working knowledge of sustainability and construction.
  • Strong understanding of contract management for building maintenance and adaptations.
  • Excellent communication skills - from mentoring trainees to answering the public's questions.
