Our focus is on bringing brands to life with engaging, high-impact digital solutions that drive real value.
Based in Spitalfields, our London office operates on a hybrid model (2-3 days in the office or with clients/prospects).
SQLI UK operates as a tight-knit, cross-functional team with a hands-on, tailored approach.
The JobThis is a brilliant opportunity for a commercially astute and technically curious Business Analyst to join our growing digital consultancy team. Working closely with our Lead Technical Consultant, you'll support the design and delivery of cutting-edge digital commerce solutions across a range of industries.
You'll play a key role in shaping projects from the ground up - supporting pre-sales conversations, discovery workshops, feasibility assessments and requirements gathering. You'll help ensure our solutions are not only technically sound but aligned to business objectives and commercial value.
What You'll Do:
- Support client engagements: Engage with key sales stakeholders to gather and document business requirements. Assist in running discovery sessions, workshops and stakeholder interviews to surface requirements, challenges and goals.
- Define scope: Break down high-level ideas into clear, structured deliverables, helping to shape project scope, timelines and work breakdown structures.
- Document and communicate: Produce clear and concise documentation, including user stories, functional specs and acceptance criteria that can be easily understood by both technical and non-technical teams.
- Stay curious and current: Keep a pulse on trends in digital commerce, customer experience and relevant technologies, and share your insights with the team.
- Collaborate cross-functionally: Act as a translator between technical teams and client stakeholders, ensuring alignment across delivery, commercial, and strategic goals.
- Support estimation and planning: Assist with sizing up effort and complexity in project estimations, contributing to Statements of Work and resource planning.
- Requirements Gathering & Analysis: Analyse and map business processes, workflows, and system requirements. Develop use cases, user stories, and functional specifications. Collaborate with internal and external teams to understand data dependencies and system integrations.
Technical pre-sales experience: You've had 3+ years in a digital or eCommerce-focused environment, in a business analyst, product, or consulting role - and you're ready for more responsibility.
eCommerce knowledge: You have a broad understanding of the eCommerce landscape and applications across multiple sectors covering B2C, B2B and D2C etc. with the ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear business solutions.
Business-meets-tech mindset: You understand the importance of balancing technical feasibility with commercial value, and can confidently assess both sides.
Clear communicator: You can distil complex ideas and present them clearly to different audiences - whether you're writing a user story or explaining a feature in a workshop.
Analytical and logical: You're detail-oriented, logically minded and great at breaking down problems into actionable parts.
Collaborative and adaptable: You enjoy working with others, building relationships across teams and clients, and are always open to learning something new.
Commercially aware: You understand how your work feeds into the bigger picture - budget, value, ROI - and how to align your recommendations with business goals.
Enterprise knowledge: experience with end-to-end enterprise eCommerce and customer experience solutions with complex requirements; for example order fulfilment (preferably with OMS experience), omnichannel, marketplace, ERP Integrations etc.
Core eCommerce experience in at least one platform is essential; including:
- Adobe Commerce / Magento
- CommerceTools
- Scayle
- Shopify
- BigCommerce
- SAP Commerce / hybris
