OverviewWe are seeking a Business Development Lead to work with the Industrial Projects Department (IPD).
The Industrial Projects Department (IPD) is a newly-established organization tasked with executing a diverse portfolio of projects, covering a wide array of industries. Utilizing various execution strategies, IPD's projects involve a number of stakeholders including Governmental entities, Joint Venture partners, globally recognized Contractors, and Commercial entities. IPD also supports projects under transactional development and ensures optimal execution readiness.
As a Business Development Lead, your primary role is to participate in the development of moderately complex to complex new business ventures. Advise on project development and planning and also be involved in the structuring and negotiation of deals to secure final approval.
Key ResponsibilitiesAs a successful candidate you will be required to perform the following:
- Screen complex business proposals using pre-defined filtering criteria, and research relevant intelligence to back up screening results to estimate effort and resources required for pursuing pre-feasibility/Concept Paper development of qualified proposals.
- Support negotiation of agreements based on developed strategy, manage business portfolio, develop realistic execution and project schedules, and perform other miscellaneous duties as directed.
- Provide functional expertise to design the capabilities required by the new venture to succeed.
- Review and advise on governing processes & procedures, draft proposals, evaluate packages from partners, contractors, and transaction teams.
- Support pre-feasibility and feasibility studies to establish technical, financial and marketing viability of new ventures and estimate effort and resources required for conducting feasibility studies and business planning of approved Concepts based on market data and venture-specific industry best practices.
- Support the development of economic/financial models for complex business proposals by providing project-specific inputs and integrating execution requirements.
- Evaluate business opportunities including valuation techniques and methodologies, defining scope of due diligence required and coordinating due diligence activities; present results of valuation and due diligence activities, support development of business offerings packages to potential investors, coordinate development of commercial agreements and review legal documents.
- Prepare for and conduct negotiations to secure a deal consistent with Saudi Aramco's offer, investor expectations and set parameters.
- Assemble initial offerings to potential investors, lead investor selection activities, and coordinate with Saudi Aramco subject matter experts to draft Memorandums of Understanding/Letters of Intent.
- Ensure compliance to process stage gates and approvals, approve contract payments and variations within limit.
- Identify potential synergies between projects, execution strategies, and available resources.
- Develop client relationships and strengthen industry partnerships.
- Participate in creating the commercial, financial and technical framework for the deal, lead evaluation of business opportunities including valuation techniques and methodologies, defining scope of due diligence required and coordinating due diligence activities; present results of valuation and due diligence activities and lead development of commercial agreements.
- Provide administrative direction in the development and review of legal documents which include head of terms, MoU, Cost sharing agreements, and shareholder agreements and manage business portfolio.
- Liaise with proponent organizations and stakeholders, both internal and external to Saudi Aramco.
As a successful candidate you will hold a:
- Bachelor's Degree in Business Development or Marketing, or similar.
- A Masters of Business Administration Degree (MBA) or a legal education & training would be preferred.
- Certified Project Management Professional (PMP), Certified Management Accountant (CMA) or Certified Financial Analyst (CFA) are preferred.
- Minimum 12+ years of experience as a Business Development Specialist in related industries. You will be able to demonstrate exceptional knowledge in specific venturing activities such as commercialization, spin-offs or joint venturing, project development, financial valuations and modeling, facilities planning, strategy development or relevant experience.
- Advanced experience and knowledge in drafting and developing legal documents/agreements such as HoT, MoUs, JDAs, and PSIAs.
- Ability to maintain strong client relationships and establish industry partnerships.
- Competency in negotiating and closing business deals.
- Ability to advise on possible projects, execution strategies, and business development such as joint ventures.
- Experience in company formation, including ability to understand regulatory requirements.
