About the Role

You'll be responsible for driving new business growth and expanding the company's client base within the UK and European market. This role involves identifying new business opportunities, building and maintaining new/existing client relationships, and working closely with the events team to deliver outstanding event experiences. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in sales and business development and excellent communication skills.

Key responsibilities:
  1. Prospecting and Engagement: Proactively research and engage with prospects to understand their needs within the legal community.
  2. Lead Qualification and Sales Cycle: Qualify leads and guide them through the event sales cycle to closure.
  3. Event Portfolio Management: Manage a portfolio of events, taking full ownership of event sales to meet both individual and team targets.
  4. Client Relationship Management: Work closely with senior stakeholders from law firms and legal service providers, ensuring high satisfaction levels and retention.
  5. Collaboration and Coordination: Coordinate with editors, delegate acquisition, events logistics, and design teams to ensure all sponsor deliverables are met.
  6. CRM Management: Maintain and update the CRM system to accurately track client interactions and sales progress.
  7. Reporting and Pipeline Management: Accurately report and manage a pipeline of potential clients, providing regular updates on sales performance.
  8. Representation and Networking: Represent Legal 500 at various industry events, fostering new connections and maintaining existing relationships.
  9. Feedback and Improvement: Conduct follow-up meetings with clients to gather feedback, improving future event offerings based on insights.
  10. Market Research: Conduct ongoing market research to stay informed about industry trends, competitor activities, and evolving client needs.
  11. Team Collaboration: Collaborate with the team to expand the event portfolio and drive collective success.
Requirements:
  1. Excellent written and oral communication skills
  2. Strong interpersonal skills for both internal and external contacts
  3. Reliable, diligent, and professional when dealing with clients and colleagues
  4. Competitive and ambitious in achieving targets
  5. Customer-focused and effective at problem-solving

We have a hybrid working week, with 3 days onsite at our office on Fleet Street, Central London and 2 days remote.
