About the position:
You will play a crucial role in bridging the gap between business objectives and technological solutions. Focused on optimizing and enhancing business processes through the effective use of technology, you will be a key player in ensuring that our organization's systems meet their strategic needs. Primarily situated within the Meetings and Events Technical Team, you will take on the responsibility of understanding business requirements, identifying solutions, and coordinating the implementation of technological improvements.
This is a Business Systems Analyst role within the Meetings and Events Technology organization.
The incumbent functions as a core team member of agile development teams driving user story creation, analysis and elaboration of software applications in the Meetings and Events portfolio with a strong focus on improving the user experience, process efficiency and overall customer value.
What You'll Do:
- Functions as a core member of an agile team driving user story creation, analysis and elaboration for software applications, testing and builds
- Analyzes scope, capture business requirements, recommend process changes and document the requirements for the development team partnering with multiple stakeholders
- Partners with internal and external customers using visualization tools like process mapping, wire frame creation and other techniques to fast track concepts
- Participates in the test process from test case creation to defect tracking; Coordinates the application user acceptance testing and installation.
- Contributes to estimates of work and time required to complete projects and features
- Writes and maintains technical documentation to describe requirements, logic, testing, changes, and corrections
- Uses qualitative and quantitative research to develop a strong understanding of the clients' business, metrics and competitive landscape
- Advocates for and applies UX best practices and research methodologies
- Stays abreast of Meetings and Event and Technology industry trends and advancements.
- Interacts with customers, business stakeholders, product development teams and peers, acting as subject matter expert and trusted advisor to share information and help leadership improve cross-departmental processes.
- Participates in technical product evaluations, supporting solutions, vendor selections and onboarding processes.
- Manages e xpectations of key features and capabilities from a delivery and fix perspective
What We're Looking For:
- Bachelor's Degree on Business, IT or related field, and/or 4+ years of working experience as a BSA or business, operational related role
- Strong working knowledge and grasp of the Meetings and Events industry
- Strong background on Financial, accounting concepts and ERP systems a significant plus
- Strong ability to work collaboratively across different teams and with various stakeholders
- E xcellent written and verbal communication skills
- Sharp analytical skills to dissect complex information into manageable components and understand the underlying issues
- Excellent knowledge of application development, requirements definition and principles of information systems
- Solid understanding of systems analysis, process mapping, user story creation and related techniques.
- Experience with project management methodologies like Agile
- Understanding of UX/UI design
- Strong working knowledge and concepts related to data analysis and management
- Knowledge and proficiency with SQL, web development and API concepts a significant plus
- Experience with testing cycles like systems integration and user acceptance testing
- Clear and responsive communication
- Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving, appropriate judgment and decision-making skill
- Demonstrated track record as a team player
- Proven ability to effectively manage timelines and deliverables
- Excellent attention to detail and strong task ownership
- Self-starter, motivated individual able to adapt and contribute in changing, fast-paced environment
- Comfortable working with remote team members and adjusting to different time zones
