Campaigns and Marketing Officer

Location: City Hall (with option for hybrid working).
This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated campaigns, marketing, and communications professional to join Bristol City Council's innovative Policy, Strategy and Communications team.
Every day will bring new and exciting challenges. Your role will be predominantly focused on helping to develop and deliver engaging and creative campaigns and marketing activity to support the city's range of transport projects. This includes raising the profile of major infrastructure projects to improve public transport and active travel, carrying out varied engagement exercises, and encouraging people to switch to more sustainable forms of transport.
There will also be opportunities to be involved in other work programmes undertaken by the Campaigns and Marketing team.
With excellent interpersonal skills, you will be able to lead on the creation of communications and marketing content, advise senior colleagues on communications approaches, and manage relationships with partners both inside and outside the council.
Underpinning your skills will be a degree or relevant equivalent industry or vocational qualification, and/or significant experience of working in a marketing or communications role.
Working within a fast-paced, supportive, collaborative environment, this is an exciting opportunity for someone looking to take their next steps in a career in marketing and campaigns. You might already be working in the transport or infrastructure sector or looking to gain new experience in this area.
You will have excellent verbal and written communication and the ability to produce content for online and offline audiences, demonstrating a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail. You'll also be well-organised and flexible, with the ability to manage multiple priorities under pressure.
We always aim to improve how we do things and in your role you will be contributing to continually improving our campaigns and looking for new, effective marketing and communications solutions to support our priorities while evaluating the effectiveness of our work.
Salary range: BG10: £34,314 to £37,938 pro rata - dependent on experience.

For permanent Bristol City Council employees, this post will be a secondment.
For employees who are currently on a fixed term contract with Bristol City Council, the secondment must not extend beyond the end of the fixed term period to ensure there is a substantive post to return to.
If you are currently a casual worker or a member of an employment agency (currently working with Bristol City Council) this post will be a fixed term contract.
