Are you an ambitious and talented Ground Freight Projects Manager looking for your next move to a Company who will support you build your career, where you can demonstrate your current abilities and learn and develop new skills?

As a Head of the Ground Freight Project Logistics in Europe, you will be responsible for leading the Project Logistics Team to be successful in Ground Freight Project Logistics ensuring maximum profitability of the product within the EMEA region. You will work closely with local Operations, Sales and other Product owners to continue to develop solutions to grow our Ground Freight Project Logistics product capability and GP within the region.

You will be responsible for:

  1. Increasing GP line contribution from Ground Freight Project Logistics Product through heavy haulage business throughout Europe.
  2. Increasing Global GP achieved from Project Logistics.
  3. Being a subject-matter expert in Ground Freight Project Logistics and Support Sales Team on project logistics solution design for customers.
  4. Coaching Ground Freight Project Logistics Team in the EMEA region to improve individual technical capability.
  5. Supporting Line Manager to prepare budget for Ground Freight Project Logistics once a year during budgeting season.
  6. Working with Branch Managers, Vertical Heads and the wider Sales team to grow our Project Logistics Product in the EMEA Region.
  7. Support Sales Leadership Team to budget for Ground Freight Project Logistics once a year during budgeting season.
  8. Source logistics solutions for ground freight project logistics RFQ's received from OIA existing and targeted customers, network agents and OIA sister offices.
  9. Cultivating a culture of safety at work through compliance and process ownership when handling project cargo.
  10. Seek, Bid and Win new ground freight opportunities in project logistics throughout the European Region consisting of over-sized and heavy lift shipments both to project sites and manufacturing sites.
  11. Ensure that Projects secured by the European Ground Project Logistics Team are executed in compliance with company's Standard Operating Procedures.
  12. Ensure hand-over of ground freight project shipments secured and executed by Branch Operations is done to achieve smooth operations at time of shipments.
  13. Develop and sustain relationship with new & existing vendors by sourcing, initiating, and attending regular meetings with trucking companies throughout Europe.
  14. Attend customer visits as required by the Sales Team to maintain and develop relationship with designated accounts through technical ability.
  15. Supervise operational activities relating to Special Projects and/or other customer bookings/orders to ensure all requirements are fulfilled.
  16. Perform negotiation on BIDs & Project inquiries with vendors, customers, and agents involving ground freight project logistics.
  17. Ensuring ground freight project operations are being executed in accordance with the company processes and procedures as set by the Company.
  18. Develop the skillset of local teams through offering advice, guidance, and training in relation to matters pertaining to project cargo ground freight and related activities.
  19. Coaching, developing and motivating your team, ensuring they have the knowledge to complete their duties.
  20. Supporting Manager with team management responsibilities such as setting objectives and reviewing performance.
  21. Formally managing your direct reports, e.g. performance appraisals, inductions, disciplinary matters.
  22. Leading colleagues to create a positive working environment.

What we need from you:

  1. Extensive technical expertise/experience on heavy haulage project cargo (quoting, planning and execution).
  2. Excellent and proactive communication & negotiation skills with related project cargo forwarding experience with management of diverse work groups and financial acumen.
  3. Innovative and constantly seeking improvement on current processes.
  4. Ability to work to deadlines and with high attention to detail.
  5. Strong problem-solving and analytical skillset.
  6. Ownership and initiatives at work, ambitious, self-motivated, and results oriented.
  7. Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain professional working relationships with colleagues in and outside of Ground Freight Project Logistics Team.
  8. Fluent in both written and spoken English.
  9. Very strong analytical and decision-making skills.
  10. A high level of energy with a 'can-do' positive attitude and entrepreneurial spirit.
  11. Eligibility to work in the country in which you are employed is essential.
  12. Ability to travel domestically and internationally as required.
