As a Category Buyer - Steel, you will be responsible for developing and implementing successful sourcing strategies for large and technically advanced steel structures. This includes mission equipment for offshore projects, sea-fastening systems, and bridge structures ranging from 10T to 5000T. You will ensure the right balance between quality, cost, and planning while working closely with internal stakeholders and suppliers.

You will take the lead in tender management, selecting the right suppliers and managing contracts. Through this, you will develop an extensive network and continuously strengthen both external and internal partnerships. Your role includes implementing strategic approaches in market research, supplier evaluations, cost management, and continuously seeking optimization opportunities.

As this position involves large-scale projects and significant volumes, you will be responsible for managing substantial budgets, ensuring the company's sourcing strategies align with its ambitious and innovative vision.

Profiel

• Master's degree in Engineering, Economics, Supply Chain Management, or equivalent through experience.
• At least 3 years of relevant purchasing experience, preferably in the steel or heavy industry.
• Strong negotiation and communication skills.
• Interest in technical subjects and willingness to learn.
• Fluent in English; knowledge of Dutch or other languages is a plus.
• Willingness to travel occasionally for international projects.
