Position: Catering Manager
Care home: Leger Grove
Location: Armthorpe Road, Intake, Doncaster, DN2 6AR
Contract type: Full time 40 hours per week
Rate: £12.50 per hour

Are you an experienced Chef with a flair for creating delicious, nutritious menus? Join us as our new Catering Manager at Leger Grove care home in Doncaster!

As Catering Manager, you'll lead our Catering Team in providing healthy and inviting meals for the people we support.

Leger Grove care home is set to open in 2025, offering you a unique opportunity to be part of a brand-new team in a state-of-the-art, purpose-built home. This is your chance to truly make an impact!

About Exemplar Health Care

Leger Grove is part of Exemplar Health Care, one of the country's leading nursing care providers. When open, Leger Grove will support adults living with acquired brain injuries, complex mental health needs, dementia, and physical disabilities.

Although the home is set to open in April 2025, you'll begin a tailored induction one month prior. This will give you the opportunity to learn about the company, meet your colleagues, and complete your training, so you're fully prepared when the home officially opens.

In the meantime, we'll stay in touch via email or WhatsApp, sharing regular updates on the progress of your new workplace.

About the role

Our Catering Managers cook delicious and nourishing meals for people with a range of dietary requirements. No two days will ever be the same, but your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

  1. Managing the day-to-day running of the kitchen
  2. Preparing, cooking, and serving food
  3. Understanding people's needs, likes, and choices to develop suitable menus
  4. Ensuring your Catering Team complies with food hygiene standards
  5. Completing relevant checks and maintaining records
  6. Controlling stock and purchases within an allocated budget
  7. Leading and managing your Catering Team members, ensuring they receive induction, training, and support as required.

Above all, you're someone who identifies with our values of fun, integrity, responsiveness, success, and teamwork. You're also:

  • A cook with a flair for creating delicious and nutritious meals for varied dietary requirements
  • Creative in menu development and food preparation
  • An excellent team player, able to coordinate, support, and motivate a team
  • Experienced in managing a catering budget
  • Adaptable and flexible
  • Someone with excellent verbal and written communication skills.

We like our Catering Managers to have, or be working towards, a Level 3 Food Hygiene qualification. As this is a management position, we expect you'll have previous experience in a similar position and environment, ideally in leading a catering or kitchen team.
