Catering Manager

Job Title: Catering Manager (Primary School)

Location: Blackburn

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Catering Manager for a Primary School in Blackburn. This term time position will involve leading the kitchen team, overseeing meal planning, food preparation, and staff management.

Responsibilities:

1. Lead the kitchen team to provide high-quality, nutritious meals, meeting government nutrition standards.
2. Plan, prepare, and cater to various dietary needs while maintaining a 5-star kitchen standard.
3. Oversee catering budget, stock management, and supplier contracts for cost-effective meal provision.
4. Ensure compliance with health, safety, allergen, and food hygiene regulations.

Experience:

1. Previous experience in a catering/kitchen management role, preferably in a school setting.
2. Strong leadership and staff management skills, including training and performance management.
3. Knowledge of food safety policies, health and safety regulations, and allergen requirements.
4. Ability to work within a team, maintain high morale, and ensure a smooth kitchen operation.

The position is working 30 hours a week (8am-2pm) Monday to Friday during term time, Grade D Point 5 £24,790 - £25,992 pro rata.

The position will be on an agency contract to begin with but will move across to a contract directly with the Primary School after an initial period.
