What the job involves

  1. Collaborate closely with the executive management team, board members, and investors to support long-term strategic direction and ensure strong financial performance.
  2. Develop and deliver accurate financial information and analyses that provide insights into performance against budgets and strategic objectives.
  3. Drive strategic planning and decision-making processes by providing actionable financial insights.
  4. Strengthen controlling, reporting, and risk management frameworks to ensure operational efficiency.
  5. Oversee working capital management and cultivate strong relationships with banking and financing partners.
  6. Lead contract management and negotiations, securing favorable terms while serving as a sparring partner for purchasing, business development, and sales teams.
  7. Ensure compliance with legal regulations and company policies while managing external financial stakeholders, including auditors, tax authorities, banks, and insurers.
  8. Manage statutory accounting, financial audits, and governance frameworks to maintain accountability and transparency.
  9. Continuously enhance the finance function in terms of systems, processes, and team development.
  10. Lead business planning, budgeting, and forecasting processes, including cash flow management, ensuring alignment with business goals.
  11. Implement a robust KPI framework to monitor milestones in the business plan, focusing on EBITDA, cash flow, and return on investment.
  12. Oversee equity and debt funding rounds, as well as M&A processes, to support the company's growth objectives.
  13. Serve as the primary point of contact for investor inquiries, managing relationships and providing timely, accurate financial information and strategic updates to ensure transparency and build trust.

Who we are looking for

  1. University degree in finance, economics, business administration, or a related discipline.
  2. CPA or equivalent qualification is an advantage.
  3. Several years of experience as a CFO or in a comparable leadership role within an SME or growth-oriented company.
  4. Exposure to multi-channel or B2C business models (e-commerce KPIs).
  5. Experience with consumer goods and/or manufacturing is beneficial.
  6. Background in VC- or PE-backed companies is a plus.
  7. Strong knowledge of accounting standards (HGB) and a proven track record of achieving significant economic results, including growth and profitability goals.
  8. Demonstrated expertise in managing strategic financing (both equity and debt).
  9. Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.
  10. Proven success in developing, optimising, and digitising financial and controlling processes.
  11. Exceptional analytical and strategic skills with a decisive approach to business decisions.
  12. Demonstrate an entrepreneurial mindset, taking a proactive and hands-on approach to driving business growth, optimizing financial performance, and identifying new opportunities.
  13. Transparent, proactive, and open communication style.
  14. Fluency in both German and English.
