Who we are.WWFT was founded in 1986 by Wilf and Phyllis Ward and has grown across Yorkshire, providing more than 70 residential and supported living services for adults with profound learning and physical disabilities.
They provide safe and homely environments that focus on delivering personalised support and active involvement with local communities. Their commitment to outstanding care is reflected by CQC ratings which place them in the top tier of all social care providers.
They are committed to sustainable growth in line with their purpose and mission and need a new Chair to help empower their development.
Could you be their new Chair?Being the Chair of the Wilf Ward Family Trust (WWFT) will be a joy, a privilege, and a challenge. You will offer strategic oversight and support to the talented board and executive team.
The people WWFT supports are at the forefront of everything they do, and they will be included in the panel for this recruitment and a key part of helping to choose their next Chair.
Who we are looking for.We are looking for an authentic leader who feels motivated by WWFT's purpose and mission. Someone who knows how to grow organisations in line with their values and who can apply commercial nous to a people-centred organisation such as WWFT.
A person who knows how to Chair and empower others at all levels - fellow board members, executive team, and the people WWFT supports. Someone who understands good governance and how to apply it so as to galvanise and inspire the best performance from a board and leadership team.
An individual who believes in inclusivity and understands the value and strength of diversity for the benefit of all.
Time commitment.Time commitment and term of office is 2-3 days a month, present across WWFT in Yorkshire and Humber and externally as an ambassador.
