NHS Scotland is committed to encouraging equality and diversity among our workforce and eliminating unlawful discrimination. The aim is for our workforce to be truly representative and for each employee to feel respected and able to give their best. To this end, NHS Scotland welcomes applications from all sections of society.
An opportunity has arisen within NHS Highland Child & Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS) based at Raigmore Hospital, Inverness, for a Band 6 nurse practitioner to join our friendly and expanding team. We are seeking a suitably experienced registered nurse who is enthusiastic, motivated and committed to working with young people and their families.
You will possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills and be experienced in psychosocial and mental health assessment and care planning.
You will be able to demonstrate that you can work within a multi disciplinary team.
The community nursing team is an integral part of CAMHS and we have experienced success with a focused recruitment drive over the last 2 years which has allowed us to substantially expand our nurse provision in the department and we have also invested heavily in the support structure for our nursing staff. We consider ourselves to be a compassionate, caring and innovative team which supports clinicians to work to their potential.
The work will involve direct clinical contact with children and young people with severe and complex mental health problems and their family and carers within The Phoenix Centre, the community and Raigmore Hospital.
The community nursing team will work closely with the CAMHS MDT to deliver a specialist, comprehensive and therapeutic service, using their own initiative and acting autonomously when making clinical nursing decisions that are safe and effective in line with their professional nursing and midwifery (NMC) code of conduct.
The post holder needs the ability to work flexibly which might include working outside normal working hours according to the changing needs of the service; however, currently CAMHS provides a Monday to Friday 9-5 service.
Informal enquiries should be directed to Colin Millar, Clinical Nurse Manager- CAMHS on or via email at or April Emmott, Divisional Nurse Manager on or by email; .
