Job Description
Service Care Legal are currently recruiting for a Childcare Legal Officer to join a highly-respected London Borough Council on a contract basis. Please find below further details with regards to this role.
ROLE: Childcare Legal Officer
LOCATION: West London
RATE: £24.14 to 26.14 per hour LTD (DOE and interview performance)
CONTRACT: 6 months, 36 hours per week
Please note that this would be a hybrid working position.
Key Responsibilities:- To manage a caseload of up to 13 care cases with no advocacy.
- Assist senior colleagues in managing complex and confidential cases, conducting thorough research, and preparing organized materials.
- Draft legal documents and attend meetings with counsel, external professionals, and the public.
- Take the lead in drafting documents, providing instructions to Counsel, and negotiating fees with external solicitors and barristers.
- Previous Childcare Law experience within a local authority would be essential.
- A law degree or equivalent legal qualification would be required for this role.
- Ability to manage a caseload independently with minimal supervision.
