Civil Construction Engineer

I am representing a leading Principal Contractor who require a Civil Construction Engineer for a 5 year project in Torness, East Lothian.

This is a 5 year project with an initial 2 year contract. March start date. Outside IR35 between £450 and £550 per day.

The Civil Construction Engineer will be responsible for coordinating Civil Engineering activities across the Eastern Green Link 1 project. This is a 5 year Converter Station build.

1. Provide technical expertise within their discipline and inspire project teams to perform, innovate and deliver sustainable design solutions.
2. Coordinate design interfaces between the Principal Contractor and design partners through concept and detailed design packages.
3. Ensure engineering assurance is undertaken in accordance with the EMP and client requirements.
4. Identification and control of engineering design change.
5. Preparing scope, schedule, and other technical documents for RFP processes.
6. Chair and/or attend relevant governance, technical and progress meetings with client and project stakeholders.
7. Ensure the responsibilities under CDM 2015 for Principal Designer are discharged in accordance with the regulations.
8. Undertake design reviews of vendor deliverables to check for compliance with requirements, constructability, safety, and temporary works requirements.
9. Coordinate technical scope with Engineering, Construction and Procurement functions.

1. Experience on UK substation projects.
2. Come from a Civil Engineering background.
