We're looking for a Clinical Nurse Specialist to join our Endometriosis Teams at The Christie Private Care and the Wilmslow Hospital, both currently rated "Outstanding" by the CQC. HCA Healthcare UK has developed a dedicated private centre in partnership with The Christie NHS Foundation Trust in Manchester. The Christie Private Care treats private patients with a full range of diagnostic, inpatient, surgical including robotics, day case and outpatient treatment all on one site. The Wilmslow Hospital is a state of the art Ambulatory Surgical Centre offering a broad range of diagnostic and day case procedures.

The successful applicant will need to be able to work well within a multidisciplinary team, building trust with Physicians and Patients throughout the patient pathway, from pre-diagnosis onwards.

What you'll do:

  • Be a key worker throughout the patient pathway, regardless of facility and when the patient is transferred between facilities for different treatments.
  • Manage a clinical caseload, working to coordinate care and provide easy access for ongoing support for patients.
  • Work within a clear care pathway, refer to other professionals and signpost to other agencies as appropriate.
  • Assess the patient's holistic needs regularly throughout their treatment pathway ensuring that any needs are supported through appropriate signposting.
  • Assess the patient's information needs and make sure they are aware of the full range of resources and services available within and beyond HCA, including recognised charities.
  • Support the patient, their next of kin and family/carers delivering excellent evidence-based individualised and personalised care.
  • Enable patients to understand complex medical information to help them make informed decisions regarding their care and treatment.
  • Demonstrate safe clinical judgement in evaluating, interpreting and documenting the outcomes of nursing and other interventions including the evidence underpinning clinical practice.
  • Demonstrate extensive knowledge of endometriosis and provide support to women.
  • Provide pre-operative support to patients to ensure they are appropriately prepared to proceed with surgery.
  • Participate in clinical audit within the department and changing practice where appropriate including supporting the service to be BSGE recognised.
  • Submit data on patients treated in the centre on the BSGE database; initially and at 6 months post-surgery. Then at 1 year and 2 years post-operatively.
  • Support in the development of patient-focused education, including training to self-manage ongoing consequences of treatment.

What you'll bring:

  • RGN, NMC registered with PIN.
  • Extensive Nursing experience.
  • Experience of leading.
  • Experience of caring for patients with Endometriosis ideally as a specialist nurse.
