Job overviewWe are very excited to be recruiting a Registered Nurse to be the Clinical Quality Lead for the Children's Complex Care Team (CCT).
The CCT provides home-based clinical and nursing care to children who are in receipt of a continuing care package across the county of Gloucestershire aged 0-18.
The Clinical Quality Lead will ensure safe practice for all staff who are support workers delivering care in children's homes. This will be achieved through supervision shifts, competency checking, and facilitating clinical supervision.
We are looking for a registered nurse who has experience of training in a wide range of clinical skills, ideally someone who has experience working with children who have continuing care needs.
The role involves some shift working at nights and weekends.
Main duties of the job- Assess and review clinical competence of support workers.
- Plan the future training needs of the team.
- Facilitate clinical supervision.
- Care shifts will be delivered to maintain own clinical competence.
- Focus on clinical governance within the team including leading on audit.

Detailed job description and main responsibilitiesThe post holder will work across Gloucestershire, delivering care and training on a range of nursing interventions in the homes of children and their families. They will ensure the safe practice and quality standards of care for children within these settings through specialist training and assessment of Children's Complex Care Support Workers.
The model of training within the Children's Complex Care Team is a hybrid model which involves assessment of theoretical knowledge after delivery of classroom-based teaching. The assessment of clinical skills is mostly through simulation but may involve practical assessment and demonstration with patients. This practical assessment is due to a high level of risk associated with some clinical tasks.
Person specification Qualifications- Professional knowledge acquired through degree supplemented by specialist professional knowledge and knowledge of mentorship, education and development practice, to postgraduate diploma level equivalent.
- Demonstrate current registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) as a Registered Nurse (Adult, Child, Mental Health or Learning Disability).
- Relevant accredited clinical course.
- Considerable experience in a wide range of nursing skills.
- Experience in delivering training (1-2-1 and in large groups).
- Experience of working without direct supervision.
- Experience of working in a Community care setting.
- Experience of working in a multidisciplinary team and joint agency working.
- Extensive specialist knowledge on a range of specialist nursing skills across a range of specialisms.
- Willingness to learn new specialist skills as the need arises in the service.
- Evidence of supporting others in a clinical environment.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, with ability to communicate effectively with service users and the immediate and wider team.
- Ability to manage own workload, including prioritising key tasks and setting clear targets.
