We're recruiting for a Clinical Research Laboratory Technician to join our Sarah Cannon Research Institute UK team. The Sarah Cannon Research Institute (SCRI) is a world-leading clinical trials facility specialising in the development of new therapies such as targeted and precision medication for cancer patients. Our clinical trial portfolio is expanding, and we are currently seeking highly motivated individuals to provide support to our onsite laboratory.

As a Clinical Research Laboratory Technician, you will be an integral member of staff providing technical support to the Clinical team for effective service delivery. This will entail:

  1. Handling, processing, and shipping of blood samples.
  2. Administrative tasks such as filing, bookings, auditing, and reporting.
  3. Preventing and reducing risks of contamination to an absolute minimum by engaging the clean policy, hence leading to the laboratory operating as safely and efficiently as possible.
  4. Coordinating the collection of any biological samples required as part of the clinical trial/study and ensuring safe and appropriate storage of specimens, in conjunction with local nursing teams.
  5. Processing biological samples according to the local procedures and the pharmaceutical sponsor's laboratory manuals.
  6. Maintaining accurate records of test results and data.
  7. Ensuring compliance with safety and quality assurance protocols.
  8. Managing deliveries, stock receipt, and management.
  9. Completing associated laboratory documentation, including lab books and GCP records.

What you'll bring:

  1. Minimum qualification of a diploma in Life Science subject or equivalent.
  2. Previous experience in a diagnostic laboratory.
  3. Experience in basic sample processing including pipetting and centrifugation of various human specimens.
  4. Strong team player, able to work with colleagues of varying levels of seniority.
