Hours: Full Time, 37.5 hours per week

Shift times: 7.5 hour shifts Monday-Friday between 08:00am and 20:00pm

Contract Type: Permanent

Salary: Up to £54,645 dependent on skills and experience (with excellent benefits)

We're looking for a Clinical Specialist Nuclear Medicine Technologist to join our service at The Wellington Hospital, currently rated "Good" by the CQC.

The Wellington Hospital is the UK's largest independent hospital with over 260 beds and 1000 employees. We have an international reputation for excellence in complex healthcare and have gained four decades of expertise in treating patients from the UK and overseas.

We have a comprehensive diagnostic and imaging unit with both conventional imaging and hybrid functional imaging / nuclear medicine facilities under one umbrella. The Hybrid Functional Imaging & Nuclear Medicine service a 3 camera Unit incorporating the Symbia INTEVO T16 SPECT-CT, Symbia Intevo BOLD T16 SPECT-CT with xSPECT technology and Biograph mCT 128 PET-CT.

Duties & responsibilities:

  1. To liaise with Nuclear Medicine Manager & Superintendent and co-workers to facilitate the smooth operational flow of patient studies from initial receipt of request to final dispatch of patient report and films.
  2. Provide a communication link between patients / consultants and the Department.
  3. Carry out intravenous injections of radiopharmaceuticals and hold a certificate of competence in IV Cannulation.
  4. The post holder will undertake all Nuclear Medicine, SPECT/CT and PET/CT scanning procedures within the department.
  5. Perform in-vitro counting and radio-pharmacy procedures according to local protocols.

What you'll bring:

  1. Post qualification experience in Clinical Nuclear Medicine Imaging and radio pharmaceuticals dispensing techniques.
  2. Clinical Experience in the use of Hybrid SPECT/CT gamma cameras and PET/CT systems.
  3. Nuclear Medicine degree or other relevant Science degree with a Post Graduate qualification in Nuclear Medicine or Medical Imaging would be advantageous.
  4. Voluntary membership of a professional Organisation; VRCT (IPEM) or HPC.
