Job overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Clinical Team Leader (Band 7) in the forensic directorate.

We are looking for a dynamic and enthusiastic individual with good clinical skills, who can work closely with other disciplines to deliver high-quality care to patients. The role will enable you to develop your managerial and leadership skills.

We are a Trauma Informed Service, looking for a compassionate individual with good clinical skills. You will lead the delivery of high-quality care to patients with effective nursing therapeutic skills.

The post holder should have adequate skills to support the multidisciplinary team in using evidence-based approaches such as Trauma Informed Care, recovery star, traffic light system, Broset, safety huddles, and other evidence-based approaches in the prediction of violence and aggression.

Most importantly, you will be supported to ensure that care is delivered in a proactive working environment and that a positive patient experience is achieved.

The Forensic directorate supports regular rotation of staff to other wards to acquire new skills, avoid burnouts, and gain the full benefits and experience from working across the various pathways. The post holder may hence be rotated to another ward to meet service needs when required.

Main duties of the job

The Forensic Inpatient service of Oxleas NHS Foundation Trust is part of the South London Partnership (SLP). We are committed to staff development, wellbeing, and providing a work-life balance by various means. You will be supported to provide leadership to nurses and ensure effective governance and high-performance standards are in place.

You will be joining a supportive senior nursing team responsible for the 24-hour operational management of the service and be charged with the clinical and managerial leadership of the ward. You will be expected to articulate a deliverable vision for the ward.

We are one of the largest providers of prison health services providing healthcare to prisoners across Kent and South London.
