up to £38 per hour dependent upon experience

A Locum Social Worker is required to join Cynon's Community Mental Health team for an initial contract until the end of the financial year, with potential to extend beyond this. This is an onsite role working 5 days per week at Ysbyty Cwm Cynon Hospital in Mountain Ash. Pay rate for this role is up to £38 per hour dependent upon experience.

If you are a creative, enthusiastic social worker with a sound value base, who has experience of working with people who experience co-occurring mental ill health and substance misuse Hoop Social Work would love to hear from you.

In this role, you will need to be organised and able to prioritise competing job demands. You will also have a strong belief in empowering adults towards independence using the Recovery Model and be proactive in challenging discrimination.

You will work as part of a multi-disciplinary team and you will have good communication skills and the ability to form effective working relationships with a range of partners. You will be expected to be conversant with relevant legislation and concepts of best practice. Knowledge of the principals underpinning the Care and Treatment Planning approach is desirable. You should be able to demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of the issues facing people who experience mental ill health/ substance misuse and their carers.

There is regular professional supervision and you will also have the opportunity to become involved in peer supervision. An ongoing programme of training for all staff provides a diverse range of learning opportunities to meet the demands of the work and support individual professional development

To apply for this role, you will need to hold -

• A minimum of 6 months experience of working in the UK as a registered social worker
• A relevant Social Work Qualification
• Registration with Social Care Wales / Social Work England
• Enhanced DBS, registered on the update service or be happy to apply for a DBS
• 3 Years of referencing
• Driving license with access to a car
