Salary: MP Year 1-9 $352,448 - $448,210 per annum pro rata or $675.62 - $859.19 per session (inclusive of base salary and applicable allowances)

We have an exceptional opportunity for an Addiction Medicine Consultant/Addiction Psychiatrist to work in AOD Consultation Liaison and Addiction Prevention and Treatment Service (AOD Outpatient Clinics) across two of our sites, Fiona Stanley Hospital and Cockburn Health.

You will be part of the first integrated addiction and mental health service in a public hospital in Western Australia.

The successful candidate will also be able to work in the Gaming Disorder Clinic, the first outpatient clinic for patients with gaming disorder in an acute public hospital in Australia.

Fiona Stanley Hospital (FSH) is a 783-bed tertiary hospital offering a range of health services including the State Rehabilitation Service, a comprehensive cancer centre, purpose-built mental health unit, maternity, paediatric and neonatal services, and the State Adult Burns Service. FSH also delivers specialised services such as heart and lung transplantations and hyperbaric medicine.

Cockburn Health is a new 75 bed, women's mental health facility focused on providing non-authorised inpatient services for Women's Mental Health, Eating Disorders and AOD behavioural and withdrawal management.

SMHS delivers quality, safe and effective hospital and health services within a catchment area stretching more than 3300 square kilometres across the southern half of Perth.

In this role you will lead the multidisciplinary team to provide AOD specialist medical services to patients and promote patient safety and quality of care. You will also provide leadership, orientation, training, supervision and education where relevant for doctors in training, Health Service Medical Practitioners and other health workers. In collaboration with the Service Co-Director/Head of Service and other consultants, you will work to achieve national, state and SMHS performance standards and targets. You will also be required to work within the scope of clinical practice as defined and recommended by the SMHS Area Medical Credentialing committee.
