Applications are invited for enthusiastic and committed individuals to join our dynamic team in a rapidly expanding organisation. You will provide general and regional anaesthesia for a range of surgical specialities including orthopaedics, general surgery and colorectal surgery. There is also a particular focus on our highly successful national orthopaedic programme supported by our Enhanced Recovery programme.
The Department of Orthopaedics is now one of the largest arthroplasty units in the United Kingdom, delivering over 25% of all hip and knee replacements for the NHS in Scotland, and approximately 45% per cent of those by West of Scotland hospitals.
It is an exciting time to join NHS Golden Jubilee University Hospital. As part of a £80m Scottish Government investment, we are currently expanding orthopaedic and general surgery. This expansion will double our orthopaedic activity and increase general surgical activity by 160%. Our suite of 15 theatres is increasing to 26, opening in stages between .
The clinical work will include anaesthetic services in theatre, pre-assessment and supporting the Acute Pain Service with job plans either covering on-call or Saturday working. This can be discussed further on enquiry about the post.
The applicant will hold full GMC registration and be on the Specialist Register or be eligible for admission to the register within 6 months of the interview date.
