About the role
As a Contracts Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing a number of developments, all the way from land acquisition to completion. We need people who can bring us fresh ideas, energy, and imagination, alongside their excellent knowledge of housebuilding, commercial ability, and strong leadership skills. Reporting into the Head of Construction, you will be responsible for ensuring that Programme, Quality, and Cost targets are achieved within agreed budgets and timescales through the effective leadership of your teams.
In your teams, you will be leading Site Managers, Assistant Site Managers, Forklift Drivers, and Operatives, as well as needing to build good relationships with our subcontractors. You will work closely alongside all other departments in the company, from Land to Technical, Commercial, Customer Service, and HR. You'll be an advocate of quality in all that your teams do, from the homes you deliver for our customers, through to the quality of information you're providing to other departments.
Health and Safety on site is key, and we pride ourselves on our excellent Health and Safety standards here at Cavanna Homes. You will ensure standards are maintained and constantly improved upon at all times and will have the support of our Senior Leadership Team and Head of Health and Safety to do so.
Who we are looking for
To be considered as a Contracts Manager, we are looking for:
- A strong team motivator with the drive and tenacity to achieve the goals of the business
- Previous experience in the house building industry in a managerial position
- The ability to influence, persuade, and negotiate
- The ability to manage performance through constructive feedback
- In-depth knowledge of all aspects of the construction trade and the relevant legislative requirements e.g. Health and Safety, NHBC requirements, and Building Regulations
- Good knowledge, understanding, and experience of dealing with all issues relating to customer care
