Corporate Counsel - Data Center Real Estate and Colocation, AWS Legal

Amazon's Legal Department is looking for a talented real estate lawyer to fill the position of Corporate Counsel - Real Estate and Colocation supporting Amazon Web Services (AWS), a dynamic and rapidly growing business within AWS is at the forefront of the "cloud" computing and service industry, providing IT infrastructure services such as on-demand compute capacity, storage, content delivery, database services, and more.

Key job responsibilities:

1. As part of the AWS real estate and colocation legal team, you will be responsible for supporting AWS's APJ data center expansion through land acquisitions, leases, and licenses with services agreements.
2. You will have transactional drafting and negotiating responsibilities on deals, and will provide legal counsel and contract interpretation to business team members on a daily basis.
3. Transactions range from standard contracts to complex, bespoke, high-value agreements.
4. You will structure, draft, and negotiate agreements, help support AWS real estate and colocation's existing portfolio, manage outside counsel, and advise internal business clients.
5. You will help develop, implement, and manage process improvements across the team, resolve legal issues that arise in existing commercial relationships, and handle pre-litigation legal disputes and inquiries.

The successful candidate must be enthusiastic, enjoy working hard and being challenged, and demonstrate sound judgment even in ambiguous situations.

Minimum Requirements:

1. A qualified lawyer with at least six years of post-qualification legal experience (with at least three years at a law firm) as a real estate lawyer.
2. Experience drafting and negotiating contracts in English.
3. Strong written and oral communication skills.
4. Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects at once.
5. Enthusiastic, enjoy working hard, being challenged, and working in a fun, team-oriented environment.
6. Demonstrates sound judgment even in ambiguous situations.
7. Ability to work both independently and as part of a cross-functional team.
8. Strong analytical, written and oral communication, and client interaction skills.
