Are you an experienced Corporate Finance Director? If you have experience supporting Mergers & Acquisitions and disposals (MA&D) within a Global Organisation and providing Group reporting guidance and support to key stakeholders when accounting and reporting for major transactions, this could be an exciting opportunity for you to explore.

As a Corporate Finance Director, you will be responsible for supporting the delivery of GSK's objective of growing and diversifying our business through acquisitions, other collaboration agreements and/or divestments to ensure continued focus on our core business. The role is also critical in delivering timely and accurate financial and management information for group internal and external reporting purposes for these types of transactions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and develop a team of 4 managers
  • Coordinate and facilitate the corporate teams on MA&D processes including chairing regular meetings to discuss live projects
  • Work closely with Deal teams and the wider project team on all aspects of the transaction by inputting into legal contracts, undertaking Due Diligence, identifying Transitional Service activities and pricing, understanding deal close mechanism and structures, asset perimeter and closing statement
  • Key member of the Integration/Separation project teams, working cross functionally to execute/implement the transaction, establishing the project plan and the operating model based on the deal assumptions
  • Derive solutions to support Day 1 for all MA&D transactions across all functions, in particular reporting and systems requirements and financial deliverables to the finance community
  • Provide guidance, support and training to key stakeholders globally involved in the transaction, communicating the main features of the deal
  • Build strong relationships across the deal and project transaction teams, acquired/divested business contacts, business sponsors, third party consultants, contracting parties and senior finance leaders
  • Promote project governance over all MA&D transaction related activities, including adherence and coordinator of Sox controls over the Transaction processes
  • Escalating significant issues and risks with project leads/key stakeholders/steering committee
Basic Qualifications

We are looking for professionals with the required skills to achieve our goals:

  • Experienced leader
  • Degree in Accounting or Finance or other related degree discipline
  • Qualified member of a recognized professional finance body (e.g. ICAEW / CIMA / ACCA).
  • Experience of Group Consolidation and Financial Reporting essential
  • Excellent technical reporting skills with knowledge of IFRSs (ideally as they apply to GSK).
  • Experience working in an environment that is changing and uncertain, whilst prioritizing activities and delivering under pressure
  • Ability to build relationships quickly and develop credibility with stakeholders
Preferred Qualifications

If you have the following characteristics, it would be a plus:

  • Project management skills
  • Extensive knowledge of GSK's financial processes and consolidation systems at the divisional level and at the group level
  • Experience of using BISON (SAP FC) / other Group consolidation reporting systems
  • Strong communicator with good interpersonal and presentation skills
  • Ability to create solutions to problems and challenges
  • An enthusiastic team player with a flexible manner
