Job Title: Cyber Security Specialist

Location: Barrow-in-Furness. We offer a range of hybrid and flexible working arrangements - please speak to your recruiter about the options for this particular role.

Salary: From £55,000 depending on skills and experience.

What you'll be doing:

  • Applying security standards and best practices relating to IT/Operational Technology and adapting and tailoring where required to ensure a secure and compliant estate commensurate to the risk.
  • Advising and supporting engineers in the secure operation, ensuring that the business IT/Operational Technology estate is both protected and enabled to deliver.
  • Ensuring that required monitoring, maintenance and updates are applied appropriately to ensure that the capability is safe and secure throughout the IT/Operational Technology lifecycle.
  • Undertaking ongoing risk analysis and assurance accreditation roles specific to the domain.
  • Managing the application of appropriate security controls in line with best practices and security policies.

Your skills and experiences:

  • You will need to have a good understanding of IT technology within the IT/Operational Technology assurance landscape.
  • Have gained Cyber security experience and hold a good understanding of compliance aspects (CCNA, CISSP etc).
  • Be knowledgeable of IT Security principles and how they are applied in an IT/Operational Technology domain.
  • Be skilled in communicating technical concepts to non-specialists.

The IT Cyber Security Team:

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an IT Cyber Security Specialist to join us and support the security of Operational Technology and Information Technology Assurance within the Submarines business. As part of a small team, you will be helping to ensure that the Operational Technology and IT systems align to Security policies to meet the needs of the business. You will be engaging with stakeholders from IT, Operations and other departments and both developing and collaborating with a network of contacts across the wider BAE Systems. There will be a requirement to attend call outs to site on an urgent basis in the role.
