Job Description

Data is at the core of SCOR strategic plan Forward 2026 as one of its four enablers. The Data and Analytics Office (DAO) headed by the Group Chief Data & Analytics Officer is the unit responsible for the definition of the Data Strategy and its successful execution across the organization, through a well-governed data foundation, impactful data products and state-of-the-art advanced analytics / A.I. capabilities. DAO liaises with the business and other counterparts (CIO, COO), to identify the areas of opportunity and shape the capabilities that generate true business value for SCOR, in line with the organization's objectives.

SCOR vision consists of data sharing as a core principle, alongside responsibility as a differentiating value, as DAO commits to ensure privacy, security and sustainability by design for all data products.

The DAO team, international and multi-cultural, mixes all skills (business, design, product, governance, engineering, analytics, AI) to make SCOR the reinsurer of tomorrow. Within the DAO, the Data Strategy & Governance team is at the forefront of the unit, interfacing business units and other parts of the organization with execution and delivery. It is responsible for driving SCOR data strategy (in full alignment with SCOR business strategy) and for ensuring its ownership lies within the business.

Member of the Data Strategy & Governance team, the Data Business Partner is accountable of the shaping and continuous adaptation of SCOR data strategy as the immediate liaison to each respective business area of the company (e.g. P&C, L&H) and rest of group (CFO, CRO, COO). The role is pivot in understanding deeply the strategic needs of each area and how data capabilities could be an enabler to fulfill them. The Data Business Partners further support the prioritization of the delivery of the necessary data capabilities into a well defined roadmap per area, that they own and continuously track.

Within the Property and Casualty (P&C) business unit, SCOR Business Solutions (SBS) is the large corporate risk insurance arm of SCOR. It offers a comprehensive specialty insurance product range to address large commercial clients' evolving insurance needs worldwide, thanks to dedicated local expert teams. It offers large commercial risks insurance as well as facultative reinsurance, relying on a strong underwriting DNA, based on technical expertise and a deep knowledge of industries.

Responsibilities

Some of the key areas of responsibility are as follows;

Strategic Alignment:

  • Collaborate with P&C SBS & Syndicate business unit management, the SBS Chief Underwriting Officer, and underwriters, as well as with the SBS related operations (pricing & modelling, technical accounting, claims, etc.), to understand their strategic goals and identify opportunities for leveraging data to steer the portfolio and drive business outcomes, with a focus on risk selection and portfolio diversification
  • Act as a liaison between the DAO team and senior business stakeholders and sponsors, ensuring alignment and understanding of data-related initiatives

Data Consultation:

  • Provide expert advice to SBS teams on leveraging data for decision-making, process improvement, and innovation, keeping in mind the specificities of the commercial insurance market
  • Act as a trusted advisor to the business unit management, helping business stakeholders understand the value of data in achieving their objectives

    Roadmap shaping:
  • Translate business needs into actionable data initiatives, ensuring clarity and alignment with organizational goals
  • Work closely with delivery and business teams to gather and document data requirements for projects and initiatives

Data Governance and Quality:

  • Advocate for and ensure adherence to data governance and quality standards within the business unit, as defined in SCOR data governance framework
  • Collaborate with the data governance team to establish and maintain data quality practices

Data Training and Communication:

  • Contribute to facilitation of training sessions for business users to enhance their understanding of available data resources and tools, and maximize usage towards performance and value (see below)
  • Communicate data-related updates, changes, and best practices to ensure widespread awareness and adoption

Performance Measurement:

  • Co-define with SBS management and track key performance indicators (KPIs) related to data initiatives, working with business teams to measure the impact of data on business outcomes
  • Provide regular reporting and analysis to demonstrate the value of data-driven decisions, to both SBS management and DAO leadership team
Qualifications
  • Strong understanding of commercial insurance markets - knowledge in the Lloyd's ecosystem is a plus
  • Proven experience in a business-facing role, with a focus on data-related initiatives
  • Strong ability to understand commercial insurance business processes (especially in underwriting, pricing and claims) and the ability to align relevant data solutions with business goals
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with diversestakeholders
  • Ability to translate business needs into actionable data initiatives
  • Experience inPerformance Measurement: Definition and tracking of key performance indicators (KPIs)
  • Familiarity with data governance, data quality practices, experience in Palantir Foundry is a plus

Required Education

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Business, Data Science, or a related field
