Job Description

Data Engineering Team Leader

A hands-on role leading & coordinating the day-to-day activities of a team of data engineers. Ensuring efficient delivery of TFSUK's curated data. Actively participating in the prioritization of work, projects & pipeline management. Supporting and contributing to the development of team members and the function, to deliver first-class data solutions.

This is a hands-on position, where you will be required to be advanced in all areas of the following:

  • High level SQL
  • Oracle databases
  • Strong ETL experience to extract, transform and load
  • Experienced in carrying out Data Integration / ETL Data transformation
  • Very strong Excel - Macros, V/X look-ups, Pivot Tables
  • Experience / Knowledge of SFTP and API (Application Programming Interfaces)
  • Ability to analyze outside of SQL
  • Ability to motivate and challenge the team

Responsibilities:

  • Line management of a team of experienced Data Engineers
  • Workload management changes / break fix / testing / releases
  • Work with Manager, BI Manager and 'Bus. Tech' to prioritize work
  • Develop high-quality data & data warehousing solutions
  • Work with DPO & ISO to protect TFSUK/customers data
  • Ensure compliance with corporate standards / best practices

Experience:

Essential:

  • SQL / Oracle
  • ETL / Informatica
  • Data Warehouse methodology
  • Power BI
  • Microsoft Office Suite

Desirable:

  • Financial Services or Motor Experience
  • Consumer Duty (Highly desirable)
  • Regulated industry
  • People management experience
  • Additional data skills (Python / APIs)
