Severn Trent's Capital and Commercial Services Business Area is gearing up to deliver AMP8, delivering over 1bn of capital spend per annum to achieve our most ambitious capital programme ever at 6.5bn of enhancements work, benefiting both our customers and the environment.

This role can be based from any of our Capital & Commercial hubs in Coventry, Derby, or Shrewsbury.

EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW

Reporting directly to the Programme Director, the Delivery Business Lead will be accountable for the end-to-end delivery of a capital programme across Severn Trent's capital works project portfolio to time, quality, and budget, with individual projects ranging up to hundreds of millions of pounds. Forming a crucial part of our Capital Delivery leadership team, you will drive real efficiency through sustained performance improvement and innovative ways of working.

You will provide inspirational leadership to deliver a step change in performance to secure delivery of a large scale and complex capital portfolio ranging in value from £400m - £600m. You will utilise our specialist in-house design and commercial teams, as well as our supply chain partners, to effectively ensure our complex programmes are delivered within the required criteria. Working closely with internal and external stakeholders, you will grow the business's capacity and capability to help shape our longer-term strategy.

WHAT YOU'LL BRING TO THE ROLE

Ideally, you will have experience in an asset-intensive industry, such as water, rail, highways, nuclear, utilities, telecoms, or similar in a large matrix organisation. You will have a proven track record of successfully taking ownership and managing the end-to-end delivery of large, complex multi-disciplinary projects, and experience of working collaboratively with contract partners, internal and external stakeholders, and a multi-disciplined team.

You will have a proven track record in developing and delivering through highly capable, high-performing teams and a record of operating in an asset-intensive industry where programme activity, innovation, and process are key. You will have experience in developing talent, building high-performing teams, and fostering a performance-driven culture.
