Main duties of the jobThis is a role which will be key to the Trust's role as leader and influencer in South East London and to achieving Essentia's strategic ambitions. The role is crucial in ensuring that GSTT is compliant with legal and statutory requirements and that all fire safety regulations under current codes of practice are addressed across a complex and multi-site organisation by the provision of fire safety advice and support to GSTT.

The postholder will be responsible for:
- Ensuring the Trust is compliant with their legal and statutory requirements and that all fire safety regulations under current codes of practice are addressed across a complex and multi-site organisation.
- Being the Trust's site lead expert for fire safety providing expert professional advice to the Trust board and senior management on all current fire safety legislation and RRO.
- Leading, providing expert specialist and professional fire information service for all capital projects.
- Developing and leading on policies, strategies and for implementation of the Trust's fire compliance annual mandatory programme.
- Supporting the effectiveness of comprehensive fire safety training programmes for all types of staff.
- Carrying out financial and budgetary responsibilities as part of the fire safety team senior management.
- Conducting audits of buildings, equipment, and training.
- Planning for future development of audits, training, and assessment programs.
- Being accountable for the planned delivery of a suite of fire safety training to all GSTT colleagues and external bodies.
- Master's Degree or equivalent experience in Operational fire safety management.
- IFPO, NEBOSH, IFE or equivalent fire training course certification.
- Experience gained within fire safety training management.
- Substantial experience of operating in a fire safety role in an estates and facilities context.
- Significant in-depth experience gained undertaking complex risk assessments in a large multi-site organisation.
- Fully conversant with the statutory and legal requirements impacting building owners and occupiers.
- Experience of working in accordance with the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 & HTM 05 series of guide documents.
