About the role of Design Manager

Due to several new contract awards, there is an opportunity for either an experienced Assistant Design Manager or an ambitious Design Manager to join a regional construction business. The company work across various sectors on projects ranging from £5m up to £80m. Project portfolio is vast and spans across commercial, healthcare, industrial, residential, education, retail & leisure sectors on a wide variety of contract types.

This is a growing region which can offer excellent career prospects and development opportunities over the next few years in to senior leadership.

Responsibilities for Design Manager

• Take the lead responsibility & delivery of design information from preconstruction to delivery on site working to contractual & programme delivery schedule.
• Attend pre construction design meetings
• Provide technical expertise to assess, mitigate and manage risk regarding design & financial risks during construction
• Ensuring design & delivery meet health and safety legislation and building standards thought lifecycle of project

Requirements for Design Manager

• Background and proven track record as an Assistant Design Manager or Design Manager working for a principal contractor environment.
• A proven track record of managing design processes across various industry sectors including both new build and refurbishment projects.
• Academically qualified or of relevant professional body in architecture or construction management
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to engage varying stakeholders effectively

Salary & Package on offer

• Base Salary £55k - £70k (dependent on level / skills)
