Digital Delivery Manager

On behalf of The Ministry of Justice, we are looking for a Digital Delivery Manager (Inside IR35) for a 12 Month hybrid contract, (1-2 days), based in any UK MoJ Office.

The Ministry of Justice (MoJ) priorities include improving public safety and reducing reoffending by reforming prisons, probation and youth justice, and building a justice system which makes access to justice swifter and more certain for all citizens whatever their background. Project professionals in the MoJ help to improve the government's ability to protect the public and reduce reoffending, and to provide a more effective, transparent and responsive criminal justice system for victims and the public.

We are looking for a digital delivery manager who will be joining the Launchpad Team:

This Team is responsible for two products, The Prisoner Content Hub and Manage Applications. The Content Hub is an online platform for use by prisoners directly from their cells. Accessed via laptops which are provided by the In Cell Technology programme. Initial focus will be on Manage Applications (Prisoner Apps)

Prisoner apps are basic paper forms that prisoners complete to submit a request to prison staff, which are then handed to relevant departments for action and response. This makes prisoners reliant on paper processes, as well as on staff quickly actioning these.

We are looking to build a staff-facing service within our existing Digital Prison Services (DPS) that will be used by staff to easily log, pass the applications between staff or relevant departments for action/approval, and provide a response to the prisoner.

Team/Current Status:

We have a multidisciplinary team in place which is fully conversant with Agile ways of working/delivery.

We have just completed the Alpha phase, started on Beta build and are looking to start our private Beta/pilot testing for Manage applications later this year focusing on all prisoner applications relating to in-cell telephony requests.

We will then focus on analysis, research, design and build on next prioritised applications and engage with other prison cohorts as part of our move into Beta phase. We will continue to work with prisons without digital technology (that is, non-Launchpad prisons).

As we develop our solution further, we plan to provide a prisoner-facing digital service which will fully integrate with the staff-facing service, and which will be used on Launchpad devices (prisoners with access to in-cell laptops).

The team also has responsibility for managing and developing prisoner-facing services on Launchpad and there will also be some Delivery Manager cover needed for this. As the Delivery Manager in this space, you must be willing to occasionally travel to colocate with your team and to attend Prison visits.
