Job Description

We have an exciting and varied new opportunity of Director of Learning for a leading international publishing services company; this role will be vital to the company's continued growth across their Educational Publishing and English Language Teaching (ELT) business units and ensure the timely delivery of high-quality print and digital projects for their publishing partners globally.

Benefits:
  1. Salary: £50,000 - £60,000 depending on experience
  2. Holiday: 33 days including bank holidays

Must haves:

The ideal candidate will have a strong commercial background and experience in leading publishing operations - we welcome applications from those with transferable operational know-how from all sectors of publishing. You should demonstrate commercial acumen, strategic and creative thinking, and proven ability to drive efficient and profitable operations. Strong people skills, with experience in developing teams, is essential.

About you:

People management experience and a calm, organised approach are crucial. You should be solutions-focused, proactive, self-motivated, and empowering to a team eager to learn and grow. Strong numerical skills and proficiency in Excel are required, along with the ability to analyse, interpret, and present data to publishing partners and internal stakeholders.

The Role:

The Director of Learning will report directly to the MD. You will lead the Learning (ELT & Educational Publishing) division, delivering projects for multiple publishers, extending services, and developing the team to support year-on-year growth. Responsibilities include setting and adhering to annual budgets, overseeing recruitment and resourcing, driving efficiency, and managing customer relationships. You will also provide weekly performance reports and maintain an effective management information system.
