We are looking for an enthusiastic Pharmacy Technician to join our department as a dispensary manager.

We have a strong focus on the development of Pharmacy Technicians, and support our team to reach their full potential. We support staff to access leadership programmes, such as the CPPE Leading for Change and NHS Leadership Academy programme, and other Pharmacy Technician development such as the BTEC level 4 diploma in clinical pharmacy services.
Main duties of the jobMain duties of the role:
- Participation in the development of the service provision across both sites
- Provision of professional support and guidance to all pharmacy technician staff and pharmacy assistants working in the dispensaries on both sites
- Assist in the training and development of Pharmacy Technicians, Pharmacy assistants, Pharmacists and Trainees
- Support the management of the workload of the main dispensary at Doncaster Royal Infirmary and Bassetlaw District General Hospital to ensure that the departments' performance standards are adhered to

Person Specification Experience/ Qualifications- Proven experience as a qualified and registered hospital Pharmacy Technician
- Evidence of Continuous Professional Development
- Experience of training/mentoring/supervision of other staff
- BTEC Level 3 Pharmaceutical Science with NVQ Level 3 in Pharmacy Service or equivalent
- Registered with the GPhC
- Computer Literacy
- Experience of a changing working environment
- Experience of automated dispensing systems
- Familiar with the WellSky computer system
- Familiar with the e-prescribing system
- Knowledge of COSHH and health and safety
- Experience of ward based Medicines Optimisation
- Supervisory Management Qualification e.g. NVQ level 2 Team Leading or equivalent experience
- ECDL or equivalent
- TAQA A1/A2 award or equivalent
- Mentoring or coaching qualification
- Ability to communicate effectively with patients, staff and colleagues, both verbally and in writing
- Ability to maintain and develop good working relationships within ward/pharmacy teams
- Ability to maintain patient confidentiality
- Confident to work unsupervised
- Positive attitude to stress and pressure
- Counselling skills to advise patients and carers on administration of medications
- Tact and diplomacy
- Ability to analyse and interpret prescription information and resolve any issues identified by applying expertise and knowledge
