Role Description:

We are seeking an experienced Earthworks Package Manager to oversee and manage the earthworks scope for large construction projects, such as Data Centers, Logistics, Manufacturing, Cold Stores, and Pharmaceutical facilities in Belgium. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in civil engineering, earthworks operations, and large-scale industrial infrastructure projects. This role involves planning, coordination, execution, and quality control of all earthworks activities, ensuring compliance with project requirements, safety regulations, and budget constraints


Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage Earthworks Package Program & Budget: Oversee and track project progress, costs, and reporting to ensure budget adherence.
  • EHS Compliance: Ensure all earthworks activities align with environmental, health, and safety regulations.
  • Coordination with Other Packages: Work closely with other construction teams to integrate earthworks efficiently into the overall project.
  • Stakeholder Management: Engage with clients, subcontractors, suppliers, and regulatory bodies to ensure smooth project execution.
  • Contractor Management: Supervise subcontractors and suppliers, ensuring work is performed to specification, on schedule, and within budget.
  • Quality & Compliance: Ensure all earthworks activities comply with project specifications, environmental regulations, and industry best practices. Conduct quality inspections and resolve any non-conformance issues.
  • Scheduling & Progress Monitoring: Develop and maintain schedules for earthworks activities, track progress, and implement corrective actions if delays occur.
  • Risk Management: Identify and mitigate risks associated with ground conditions, weather, and unforeseen site conditions.
  • Documentation & Reporting: Maintain accurate records, prepare reports on progress, issues, and solutions, and present findings to the Project Director and other senior members of the team.


Required Qualifications & Experience:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
  • Experience: Minimum 5+ years managing earthworks projects.
  • Contract Management Experience: Ability to oversee and manage contractual obligations related to earthworks.
  • Certifications: VOC or equivalent qualification.
  • Technical Skills: Strong knowledge of earthworks processes, geotechnical considerations, material testing, and ground improvement techniques.
  • Software Proficiency: Familiarity with project management tools, AutoCAD, Civil 3D, MS Project, or Primavera P6.
  • Soft Skills: Strong leadership, problem-solving, communication, and negotiation skills.


Expertise:

  • In-depth knowledge of earthworks and geotechnical engineering.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills with a focus on EHS (Environmental, Health & Safety).
  • Leadership and coordination of multiple stakeholders.
  • Experience with engineered fill and soil binders.
  • English proficiency required; French is a bonus.
