About the Role
The UK Schools team at OUP publishes a wide range of successful educational content for ages 3 to 18, working with teachers, educational partners, and industry experts to ensure maximum impact on educational outcomes.
This is an exciting opportunity to make an impact in education by joining our Editorial and Delivery team as Editorial Manager.
As Editorial Manager, you will lead a creative and passionate team of editors to deliver best-in-class education product. You will be responsible for performance management, development, and pastoral care of your team, and will support editors at different stages of their career to develop. Your team will be working mainly on Primary Literacy but may also work across different projects and subjects. You will need to guide them to problem solve in order to deliver high-quality product on-time and to budget. You will support the Head of Editorial and Delivery in resource allocation and prioritisation.
The Editorial Manager will also be accountable for allocated, high-value editorial management work in Primary, as required.
We operate a hybrid working policy that requires a minimum of 2 days per week in the Oxford office.
About You
We are looking for someone with exceptional editorial, project and relationship management skills, preferably gained in editorial roles in educational publishing.
The successful candidate must demonstrate the following:
- Extensive experience in an editorial role, working across both print and digital and on multiple complex projects
- Good knowledge of the UK Education system, especially Primary
- Action and delivery orientated
- Highly organised multi-tasker
- Openness and adaptability to change
- Empathetic and supportive
- Line management experience, but support will be provided
- Experience of producing and managing content for Primary learners
